Ski Tahoe

Lake Tahoe Outdoor Property

Lake Tahoe, Nevada

Maintaining the character of its history, the area of Lake Tahoe, Nevada has several new residential and retail developments, and has experienced significant growth since the mid 1960’s.

Referred to as “big sky lake” by native Americans, it’s a beautiful clear-water lake which is actually a reflecting pool for the deep blue skies and the white billowing clouds above it, as well as the steep mountains and lush green trees that surround it.   It is the third deepest lake in North America and lies at an elevation of 6,229 feet.  However, in the summer the surface water warms to about 68 degrees and is suitable for swimming, skiing, and other water activities.  There are plenty of winter activities in the mountains as well.

As one of the Rocky Mountain States, Nevada consists of stark and arid lands, rugged snow-capped peaks, and sage-covered desert valleys.  You'll find populous areas as well as sparsely-populated areas that retain the personality of the Old West, and days when the Buffalo roamed the area in massive herds.

The area around Lake Tahoe has experienced growth with plenty of activities for those who come to play or to stay.  You'll find towns like Glenbrook, which is the oldest settlement on the Nevada shoreline of Lake Tahoe.  Glenbrook played a significant role in the expansion of Nevada’s development as a main supplier of timber.  Today the town is a quiet gated area with more than a ½ mile of private beaches, acres of meadows, tennis and golf courses for its residents.  Zephyr Cove is a town located close to the casinos, but it also offers guided horseback rides on scenic trails through the High Sierra Wilderness.

Regardless of which town you settle in near Lake Tahoe Nevada, you'll find a variety of outdoor properties.  Real estate includes homes near the center of all the activities found on or near the Lake and mountains or close to casinos.  There are also farms, ranchs, resort property, and outdoor property where you can find your dream home.

Many Nevada outdoor properties are available for building a ranch or family farm, and you can even raise your own horses.
